Ascent Search is seeking a dynamic and strategic Investment Manager to oversee Energy sector investments for a Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF). The successful candidate will contribute to the development and execution of energy strategies, manage the operations of the Energy team, and ensure alignment with national diversification objectives. This role will involve leading strategic initiatives, business development, asset management, and stakeholder management, with a strong focus on maximizing value for the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Strategy Execution: Develop and implement Energy strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Team Leadership: Manage recruitment, development, and performance to meet objectives.
• Operational Oversight: Ensure smooth daily operations and achievement of performance targets.
• Business Development: Lead investments, partnerships, and initiatives to maximize returns and attract FDI.
• Deal Management: Oversee transactions, negotiations, and divestments to optimize value.
• Asset & Stakeholder Management: Manage shareholder rights and engage with policymakers and regulators.
• Sector Insights: Monitor industry trends, mitigate risks, and promote SME participation.
• Continuous Improvement: Enhance systems, processes, and compliance with best practices.

Qualifications:

• A degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or equivalent preferred).
• 11 to 13 years of related work experience, with a minimum of 6 years of deep technical experience in Energy sector. Hands on sector regulatory framework with experience in Investment banking/ private equity/ project finance 
• Certifications such as CFA, CMA, CPA, FMVA, FRM

• Proven experience in a leadership role within the Energy sector, including strategy development, operational management, and business development.
• Strong expertise in managing large teams, driving performance, and achieving organizational goals.
• In-depth knowledge of the Energy sector, market trends, and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience in negotiating high-value deals and managing complex transactions.
