Job Overview:

Ascent Search is seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Associate, Energy sector investments for a Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF). The successful candidate will contribute to the deal sourcing of investments in companies operating in Energy in conjunction with the market needs, asset management through continuous evaluation of the existing portfolios, and monitoring successful exits of the existing deals in order to support in maximizing the Energy revenues generation. 

Responsibilities:

• Company Support: Provide strategic guidance to energy companies, aligning their objectives, KPIs, and strategies with sector goals and stakeholder expectations. Advise boards to achieve targets.
• Business Development: Lead energy business development, guiding investments, partnerships, and projects. Evaluate deals, build financial models, and ensure data integrity for informed decisions.
• Deal Negotiations: Oversee negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and strong relationships. Collaborate with legal advisors and support Investment Managers.
• Asset Management: Maximize returns by aligning investments with expected outcomes, monitoring shareholder rights, and ensuring transactional efficiency.
• Due Diligence: Lead transaction origination and due diligence, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks through stakeholder collaboration.
• Synergy & Compliance: Align sector initiatives with national goals, address compliance issues, and maintain stakeholder relationships to optimize outcomes.
• Divestment Support: Support portfolio companies in divestments and fundraising, assisting with disposal plans as needed.
• Policies & Procedures: Ensure adherence to energy sector policies and compliance with legislative requirements.
• Health & Safety: Uphold health, safety, and quality standards to ensure workplace safety and compliance.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in systems, processes, and practices to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or any other relevant field 
• CFA, CMA, CPA, FMVA, FRM
• 8 to 10 years of related experience
• Preference will be given to candidates with sector expertise in Energy 
• Fluency in English is essential; Fluency in Arabic is advantageous
• Proficiency in MS Office is essential (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
• Experience with business related software is desirable
